Within the Reynolds Lake Oconee community there are many approved custom home builders. These approved builders can be found through the Reynolds POA site. We quickly learned that just because you chose an approved builder within the community doesn't necessarily mean you will have a good experience. Long after our project started we have had discussions with customers of ArtisanBuilt that had similar situations as the one we dealt with. Do your homework, multiple reference customers are very important

How We Chose

To build our custom home in Reynolds Lake Oconee

In 2017 we looked for and purchased a vacant lot with a well known Real Estate Agent within the community, Brian Quinn.

We set up meetings with many builders about the new custom home in Reynolds Lake Oconee we wished to build.
We met with Dream Built, Artisan Built, and New Leaf Homes to name a few. Our realtor Brian Quinn highly recommended ArtisanBuilt and at our first meeting Ryan Miller and Bryan Combs seemed very eager for our project. We thought they'd be a good choice with a hyperfocus on our project.

A brief timeline of our experience

We signed with ArtisanBuilt in March of 2018. Our lot wasn't cleared until June of 2018. We were frustrated early on for the delays but Ryan Miller said he'd make up time ! Here we are 3 years later still unable to use our home. Our daughters were 6&8 years old when we envisioned spending the summers at the lake. They are now 9&11. We will never get those years back.

Our opinion

After the experience we've had we wouldn't recommend ArtisanBuilt to anyone. If you're contemplating it reach out and ask me any questions you'd like, I'd be happy to donate my time to helping you make an informed decision.

Choosing our custom home to be built by ArtisanBuilt in Greensboro, GA was a decision we will likely always regret.

We signed with ArtisanBuilt in March of 2018. After being fed up with delay after delay we put the project on hold in January 2021 and hired legal representation.

We resumed in April of 2021 after being assured the home would be completed in 10 weeks.

As of July 21st, the home is still not complete !
